A Space to Slow Down and Reflect
Sometimes, life feels overwhelming or uncertain. You may feel stuck, burned out, or constantly wonder if you are doing “enough.” Whether you are navigating the high pressures of school and work or adjusting to life between cultures, these experiences can feel isolating. However, you do not have to face them alone. Therapy offers a dedicated space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of your journey.
Clinical Expertise & NYU Training
Mengyi is graduating from the Mental Health Counseling master’s program at New York University (NYU). She brings fresh, evidence-based insights to her clinical work. She specializes in helping individuals navigate:
Anxiety & Depression
Burnout & Career Transitions
Identity, Belonging, & Relationship Challenges
Her approach is deeply person-centered. This means she prioritizes empathy, curiosity, and a genuine respect for your unique story. While she creates a collaborative and non-judgmental space, she also integrates ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT, DBT, positive psychology, and psychodynamic perspectives to help you uncover patterns and create lasting change.
Bridging Cultures and Languages
Originally from China, and lived and studied in Korea and Spain, Mengyi understands the complexities of the international community. With a background working in the business field, she knows firsthand work-related stress, the tension of navigating different cultural expectations, and the search for identity in a new environment. She is particularly attuned to the tensions many Chinese individuals experience between family expectations, social pressures, and self-imposed standards, and how these dynamics influence mental health and identity development.
Before joining Mind Connections, Mengyi has extensive experience supporting the Chinese population. To ensure you feel as comfortable as possible, Mengyi provides therapy in English and Mandarin, allowing you to express your most personal thoughts in the dialect that feels like home.
Start Your Journey
Seeking psychotherapy is an act of courage. This process is not always easy or comfortable; before meaningful change occurs, we often need to stay with confusion, pain, and uncertainty. In this process, she aims to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of your lived experience, gradually move toward a more authentic sense of self, and explore the kind of life you want to create.
Finding the right therapeutic fit is essential. If you are ready to explore how therapy can help you feel more grounded, you are welcome to schedule a free 15-minute consultation.
