Do you feel stuck in your current life and don’t know where to go? Do you feel overwhelmed with what is going on around you? Have you experienced loss, and trauma, and constantly felt hopeless in life? Don’t hesitate to seek out help. Alice will provide you with a safe, warm, and comfortable space to speak about your issues and support you in going through a difficult time in your life. With a license in NY, NJ, and MD, Alice is a Chinese Mental Health Counselor and supervisor for our interns and therapists with a provisional license at Mind Connections.

Alice graduated from Columbia University. She has extensive experience in the field of mental health and wellness. Specifically, she has interned at a substance abuse program, where she assisted individuals in understanding their addiction, helped slowly reduce the use, and eventually helped maintain abstinence. After her internship, Alice joined a program assisting the severe mental illness population, specializing in serving minority groups and immigrants. Part of Alice’s specialty is to work with culturally diverse clients on various issues related to depression, anxiety, anger management, grief, trauma, hallucination, delusion, cultural identity, and relationships. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, she can help clients who prefer to speak their mother language.

Alice’s approach to counseling is person-centered, strength-based, and goal-oriented. She believes establishing trust and having a collaborative therapeutic relationship are the keys to the therapy session. Clients know themselves the best and she believes that in order to assist them, the clients must explore their issues, discover their inner-self, and eventually self-actualize. She will serve as a map for you while you are lost in your journey.

Growing up in multiple places in Asia, and moving to the United States as an international student and now an immigrant, Alice understands the unique issue and challenges of identity exploration for people who are in the process of transitioning.
