Specializing in Cross-Cultural Adjustment, Identity, and Teen/Student Mental Health

As a mental health counseling resident, I provide bilingual therapy in Mandarin Chinese and English, supporting clients who are navigating life transitions, cross-cultural shifts, and the complexities of finding a sense of belonging.

Areas of Focus

  • Cross-Cultural Counseling for International Students & Immigrants: Adjusting to life in the U.S., dealing with culture shock, and bridging different cultural values.

  • Teen and Adolescent Therapy: Supporting young people as they navigate identity development, academic stress, and family expectations.

  • Anxiety, Self-Esteem, & Relationship Challenges: Processing the quiet pressures of trying to fit in, perform, and meet high standards.

  • Faith-Integrated Counseling: For clients who desire it, I am familiar with the Christian faith and can integrate spiritual perspectives into our work while maintaining deep respect for all belief backgrounds.

Lived Experience and Empathy

I grew up in Taipei and moved to the United States alone after high school. Living between cultures taught me that adaptation isn’t just an adjustment on paper, it is a deeply personal, lived process of finding your footing in an unfamiliar environment.

During my undergraduate at Stony Brook and graduate years at Fordham University, I worked closely with international students from diverse walks of life. I learned firsthand how often people carry their struggles in silence, and how profoundly healing it is to be heard without judgment.

My Therapeutic Approach

In therapy, my goal is to offer a steady, warm, and unhurried space where you can explore your story at your own pace. I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic perspectives, helping you uncover how past experiences shape your present emotions and relationship patterns.

I view therapy not just as a quick fix for problems, but as a collaborative space to make sense of your inner world. When things feel clearer, change naturally follows—and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

If you are going through a difficult or uncertain season, you are warmly invited to reach out.

Jenny |
